Doclisboa 2015 | Growing Home
The human exodus we have seen in the last two years is, according to figures, the biggest refugee crisis since the Second World War. The films presented here witness the escape of thousands of Syrians, Afghans and Palestinians. We are not sure where they’re headed, but we know what they aspire to. In this session we travel with them, we cross the Hungarian border and we wait for a train heading west. We visit the refugee camp of Zaatari, Jordan, which currently holds more than 200 thousand people. This is a political problem and, above all, a humanitarian crisis that urgently needs to be solved, discussed, filmed and denounced.
